The KBA welcomes Barb Smith of Forcht Broadcasting as At-Large Director. Barb was appointed by KBA 2017 Chairman, Derron Steenbergen.
A native of Louisville, she began her career in radio in 1990. She has held several positions including Traffic Manager, Account Executive, Co-Manager, and was named General Manager in 1999. In 2000, she became Regional Manager overseeing six Commonwealth Broadcasting stations in the Campbellsville and Lebanon areas.
The Campbellsville stations were later purchased by Forcht Broadcasting, where she continued he broadcasting career as General Manager.
Barb is Past President of the Campbellsville Kiwanis Club, where she is currently on the Board of Directors, and the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce.
In 2016, she was recognized by Radio Ink magazine as one of Radio’s Best Managers. Barb resides in Campbellsville with her husband Tim. They have three children and six grandchildren.
