When one of our broadcast friends dies it leaves all of us with sadness. This is certainly the case with attorney Brad Carey. Thanks to David Smith with Kentuckiana Broadcast Group, we learned of Brad’s death. Brad died several weeks ago.

One of the most significant parts of attending FCC seminars at our annual conferences, was to hear from Brad. Brad was not only an attorney but was a broadcast engineer. When Brad was in a room, it didn’t take long to know that he was there. He was quite gregarious with a loud baritone voice. He never met a stranger.

The last time most of us saw Brad was at the fall conference in Lexington in 2015. He still had that big smile and he felt he was home with all of us who attended the conference.

“I knew Brad for decades and I can truly say that Brad helped me become a better broadcaster”. “Brad was an avid supporter of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association”. “He will be sorely missed”. said Henry Lackey, President/ CEO of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.
