Digital Media Strategy Manager

Details: WHAS11, TEGNA’s ABC affiliate in Louisville, KY is seeking a cutting-edge Digital Media Strategy Manager to lead our Digital news content group.

Responsibilities: Build, develop and implement digital content strategy for WHAS11, including WHAS11.com website, WHAS11 mobile apps, and WHAS11 social that will aggressively grow WHAS11’s Digital presence
Lead WHAS11 strategy for each of multiple social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Storify and Pinterest
Evaluate emerging social and digital tools and platforms and how they can be used to advance the journalism and business goals of WHAS11Lead mobile content and design development to respond to an increasingly mobile-first news audience, both via our suite of existing apps and by identifying future content and business opportunities in mobile
Recruit, hire, develop and manage Digital news content staff
Drive origination, collaboration and integration between TV & Digital news staff, including providing ongoing training for staff members to increase utilization and promotion of Digital/ Mobile/Social tools and techniques
Enhance WHAS11 initiatives across all departments by adding a digital sensibility to operations where opportunities exist
Be an effective advocate and liaison with TEGNA to creatively address corporate and local market needs, requirements and opportunities

Account Executive

As a TEGNA TV station WHAS11 is looking for a top sales talent. You’ll have the opportunity to work with local and regional companies to help them grow their business through the use of TEGNA Media’s best-in-class broadcast and digital media marketing products, including TV, Digital Video, Online and Mobile display, Audience Marketplace, SEO, SEM, Email Marketing, Social Media Advertising, and much more. Account Executives are the primary driver of revenue growth at the TV Station. They work with existing customers, continuously develop new opportunities, and help businesses grow through the use of WHAS11 and TEGNA Media’s best-in-class, full service advertising product mix.

• Possess a winning, no excuses attitude and have the ability to thrive in a fast paced, competitive work environment
• Maintain a strong pipeline of existing and potential customers while building new prospects on a continual basis

• Effectively manage time out of the office on face-to-face sales calls, while delegating account maintenance to sales support specialists • Provide exceptional customer service to clients
• Collaborate well with Account Managers, Sales Managers, Sales Assistants, Consumer Insights Strategists and other external and internal resources
• Stay abreast of details requiring immediate attention and empower Account Managers to proactively assist as needed

Requirements:
• Must have broad understanding of broadcast and digital media, marketing, and advertising
• Minimum of 3 years consultative sales experience, preferably in media / digital media advertising sales
• College degree OR comparable combination of education/experience/training required
• Proven ability to adapt to change, expert problem solving skills and strong financial acumen
• Excellent math, written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. WideOrbit and Salesforce experience a plus.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance is required.
