The KBA extends condolences to the friends and family of Roger M. Oliver, who passed away May 23, 2017, at the age of 76.

Mr. Oliver was an attorney with the Oliver & Oliver Law Offices in Berea and was a former co-owner of WKXO-AM in Berea. He also formerly served as the color analyst for the Eastern Kentucky University Sports Network and play-by-play broadcaster for the Berea College Basketball Radio Network and was the writer and broadcaster of a daily radio program called Law Talk, a legal commentary on areas of general and current legal interest.

Mr. Oliver was Berea City Attorney from 1968-78 and Master Commissioner for the Madison Circuit Court from 1970-80. He was a member of the Madison County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, American Justice Association and the Kentucky Justice Association.

He is survived by three children, a brother and several grandchildren.

Mr. Oliver’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, beginning at 5 p.m. at his home at 1008 Richmond Road in Berea. There also will be a memorial service at Davis & Powell Funeral Home on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from noon-2 p.m. The family requests that gestures of remembrance be made through donations in honor of Roger M.
