Congratulations to Ralph Hacker

The Kentucky Broadcasters Association salutes Ralph Hacker, University of Kentucky Hall of Fame Class of 2017. A legendary broadcaster who spent 34 years on the UK Radio Network. Hacker served as the men’s basketball analyst for years with Cawood Ledford. After Ledford’s retirement, Hacker conducted the play-by-play duties for eight years, including UK’s 1996 and 1998 national championship seasons. He was the voice of Wildcat football for five seasons.

Hacker was president of HMH broadcasting. He hosted head coaches pre- and post-game shows and the weekly Big Blue Line call-in show. Hacker was on the radio call for three men’s basketball national championships, seven Final Fours and four football bowl games.

Hacker was chairman of the KBA in 1985.
