KBA High School Senior Scholarship Program
The Kentucky Broadcasters’ Association (KBA) Scholarship Fund is a post secondary partial scholarship program for children of employees of Kentucky radio and television stations.
In 2016 the KBA awarded scholarships of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) each to qualified sons and daughters of employees of Kentucky broadcast stations. The scholarship may be used to assist the student in the payment of tuition, fees, books, and room and board.
KBA Harry Barfield Scholarship
The scholarship application process is open to college and university students across the Commonwealth who attend institutions in Kentucky and whose primary residence is in Kentucky, and who are majoring in broadcasting/communications and have demonstrated a sincere interest in pursuing a career in broadcasting.
The program is named in honor of Harry Barfield, the late president and chairman of WLEX-TV in Lexington. Barfield served as Chairman of the KBA Board in 1983.
